Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) and his gang are outlaws. Merciless, persistent, greedy, they're everything that the Frontier fears and hates in equal measure. When Wade is finally apprehended, poor rancher Dan Evans (Christian Bale) signs up to help deliver Wade to the prisonbound train in neighbouring Yuma in order to collect a sorely needed $200 purse that will save his ranch and ultimately his family. The reality of the danger involved for the Evans posse quickly sets in as Wades gang follows in close pursuit, led by Wades unflinchingly loyal and bloodthirsty second in command Charlie Prince (the always menacing and not to be trifled with Ben Foster). As Yuma looms in the distance and men begin to die, a successful deliverance of Wade into the arms of justice grows steadily more and more tenuous.
